SAM Adele D Hofmann Visiting Professorship
The SAM Visiting Professor in Adolescent Medicine was established in 1986 with the first award being given in 1987. The Society for Adolescent Medicine offers this annual event to provide an educational experience in Adolescent Medicine for a group of health care providers who may not otherwise have the opportunity to benefit from the Professor's expertise. In March 2003, this award was re-named the Society for Adolescent Medicine/Adele D. Hofmann Visiting Professor in Adolescent Medicine and Health. The award is financially supported by Dr. Hofmann's children, Annie Gardiner and Peter Hofmann.

Prof. Shafer Mary-Ann Shafer, M.D.
Prof. Mary-Ann Shafer, M.D. is Professor and Vice Chair of Paediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and Associate Director of the Division of Adolescent Medicine. Prof. Shafer is frequently involved in international teaching programs and serves on national expert panels. Her areas of expertise include the common adolescent health problems, adolescent risk behaviours, reproductive health, management of STDs, eating disorders, transition care etc. She has established community based clinical and translational research, mentoring and professional development for trainees and fellows. She recently develops the first professional development course for ACGME fellows in the United States which is considered to a training model for the Fellows College.

Objectives of the Training Programme:
Adolescent Medicine is a new category of health care in Hong Kong. The current youth health care services are often disconnected. Formal training on Adolescent Medicine is also not well-developed. It would be extremely important and beneficial for us to have the Adele Hofmann Visiting Professor coming to Hong Kong to advise us on how to develop adolescent service and start adolescent training programs in our locality. We would like to have the expert advice from the Visiting Professor on the following areas:

1. To advise the multidisciplinary health care providers and youth workers on the common adolescent health needs and the ways and means to develop adolescent health service in Hong Kong;
2. To advocate the concept of interdisciplinary collaboration in providing adolescent health services in hospital and community settings;
3. To advise on the development of training curriculum on Adolescent Medicine for pediatric trainees and fellows;
4. To review and advise on the teaching curriculum on Adolescent Medicine for medical students and undergraduates;
5. To advise on the approach to adolescent health research and on how to develop research agenda including areas of interest, collaboration, support and training with an international flavor.

本會第二屆週年大會暨 社區研討會系列[二] 在二零零七年十月十三日，在葵涌瑪嘉烈醫院圓滿舉行。

上午10:00至 12:45	抵達香港濕地公園位於天水圍北部，其所處的土地原本擬用作生態緩解區，以彌償因天水圍的都市發展而失去的濕地。香港濕地公園的發展更可將該生態緩解區提昇成一個集自然護理、教育及旅遊用途於一身的世界級景點。香港特區政府及後亦將香港濕地公園計劃列為其中一個千禧年發展項目。
中午1:00至 下午2:30	於流浮山享用海鮮午餐，十二人一席。
下午2:50至 下午3:30	抵達元朗錦田紅磚屋，佔地約二萬尺之休閒市集：花卉、藝術、品味、購物、美食、休閒集於一屋，吸引一家大小在假日來玩樂。前身是蠟燭廠，去年鄧瑞笙斥資一百五十萬改建成跳蚤市場。
下午3:35	乘專車返回上水火車站及「理想酒店」解散。

「網上沉迷與罪行─青少年健康與安全保障」"Internet Addiction and Crime: Health and Safety for the Youth"

香港青少年健康學會向大家推介本會首次舉辦的社區研討會「網上沉迷與罪行─青少年健康與安全保障」。本研討會由香港青少年健康學會及社會福利署沙田區青少年服務協調委員會合辦，費用全免。

香港青少年健康學會是一個由醫生、護士、物理治療師、職業治療師 、社工組成的跨專業團體，在2006年組成，目標包括為專業人士及基層市民提升對青少年健康的關注。本年度，學 會首次與地區合作，就青少年「網上沉迷」舉行社區教育講座，向家長、社工、教師提供有關資訊和知識，並且交流處理青少年行為偏差的方法。



HKSAH presents the first community seminar on "Internet Addiction and Crime: Health and Safety for the Youth". The seminar is jointly presented by the Hong Kong Society for Adolescent Health and the Shatin District Coordinating Committee on Youth Services, Social Welfare Department. Addmission is free.

Hong Kong Society for Adolescent Health is a professional organization founded by medical, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work practitioners founded in 2006. Promoting professional and lay awareness of the health needs of adolescents is one of the key missions of the Society.　　The seminar on internet addiction serves as the first community function of the society in order to share information, knowledge and practice among various stakeholders.
